This study aims to examine the effect of individuals' recreational activity motivation levels on their recreational social health. The research was conducted with 295 voluntary participants who regularly play volleyball in their leisure time, using a relational survey model. Data were collected through the Recreational Activity Motivation Scale and the Recreational Social Health Scale, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, and regression analyses. The findings indicate that participants generally have high levels of intrinsic and benefit-based motivation, while levels of amotivation remain low. Female participants were found to have significantly higher motivation and social health levels compared to males, whereas differences based on age and perceived income were limited. Correlation analyses revealed significant positive relationships particularly between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and social health. Regression results showed that subdimensions of social health—specifically happiness/peace, communication, and time—significantly predicted participants’ motivation levels. In conclusion, as individuals' motivation to participate in recreational activities increases, their indicators of social health also improve positively.
