Abstract

In this article, Turkey's modernization in the adventure of a protracted discussion, some time can not become a problem, into the regime and center-periphery in terms of sociological, political science in terms of republican-democratic secularism led to the conflict will be problems. Moreover, Turkey's, as different from the Western world, why the religious field itself, and it makes the state institutional care community on the sovereignty of the state of the quest for a tool-building and nation-applied as a driving force trying to answer the question is looked at. This quest for answers in the first of secularism in the West will look at applications, then the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of religion and state relations in the period will be addressed.

Author Biography

Mehmet Zeki Duman, Politcal Sciences

2001 yılında Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyoloji bölümünden lisansımı, 2003 yılında aynı üniversitesinin Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’nden, Sosyoloji ana bilim dalından  “Yeni Dünya Düzeninde Siyasal Yapılanmalar” başlıklı tezle yüksek lisansımı tamamladım. 2008 yılında Ege Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’nden “Türkiye’de Modernleşme ve Liberal-Muhafazakâr Siyaset: Turgut Özal’ın Politikaları Üzerine Sosyolojik Bir Çalışma” başlıklı tezimle doktor unvanını aldım.  2009 yılından itibaren Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyoloji bölümünde Yrd. Doç. Dr. olarak görev yapmaktayım. Başlıca çalışma ilgi alanlarım arasında; Türk modernleşmesi, liberalizm, küreselleşme ve çok kültürlülük gibi konular yer almaktadır.
