Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop the School Process Consultancy Scale (SPCS), a scale used to evaluate the schools’ process consultancy applications, and carry out validity and reliability analyses.  The SPCS is significant as it determines the schools’ process consultancy application levels and makes contributions to the problems experienced during school development studies. The sample of the research is the high schools in the city center of Gaziantep. The study group consists of 410 teachers randomly chosen from 15 high schools. An item pool is constituted based on the related literature. The content validity is provided counseling experts’ views. The validity of the scale is tested with factor analysis.  The scale consists of 30 items and 5 factors. These are named as Sub-dimension Team Administrative Processes, Leadership and Authority Processes, Communication Processes, Inter-group Processes and Individual Processes. The fact that process consultancy applications are low may mean that the school needs a consultant’s help externally, or administrators need to train someone from the institution for this purpose, or vice versa. General reliability coefficient of the scale is Cronbah Alpha ,96. The explained variation is %64, 65. In conclusion, the scale is highly reliable and has adequate internal consistency.
