A New understanding of health and representation of the female body in the media

This study focuses on the representation of female body and health policies in the media. In this context gender relation, media and new health policies will be discussed. Body policy, health policy, descriptions of diseases and individual relationships are re-arranged in each social structure. Media, today's greatest strengths, through information, education, and as a means of socialization, has taken its place within these power relations.
Based on the idea that a major force in today's society - the media, this study is to understand how it works with the new understanding of health as a means of regulation and discipline of the female body. In this context, health-related texts are analyzed in two national newspapers. Thus, a new understanding of health and female body relationships are handled in the media format is examined.
