Factors associated with life orientation of students of Nursing School and Faculty of Education

This research was planned as descriptive-correlational to examine life orientation levels of students of nursing school and faculty of education students and related factors. The universe of research was included senior students who study nursing and faculty of education at academic year of 2010-2011. The sample of research was included 130 senior students who study nursing school and 146 students who selected by stratified sampling among senior students at faculty of education. Data were collected with “Information Form” and “Life Orientation Test”. Data were analyzed with SPSS (Version:17.0) package program by frequency-percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, One-Way ANOVA for comparing groups, Bonferroni test for identifying difference and significance level was set as .05.
The results of the research showed that nursing school and faculty of education students have an optimistic life orientation, but optimistic life orientation of students’ should be improved more and more. However, it was stated that students’ life orientation level was not affected from some socio-demographic characteristics. When considering formative effect and individual development function of education, this result made think that education process effect students’ life orientation and prepare them as healthy, productive and successful individuals to future.Downloads
