In this study the literary output of Hertha Kräftner named “Head”, which is among the examples of Austrian literature after the war, is analysed with an eclectic method, blending text-immanent critism and text-transzendental critism (reader response criticism and writer response critism) with each another, within the scope of the problem of “alienation”, which is one of the main dilemmas of a person in the 20th century.
