Relationship between hopelessness and submissive behaviours and humor styles of university students

The aim of this research is to analyze the relation between types of humour of university students and the level of hopelessness and the level of submissive behaviours. Research sample includes 522 students of which 205 are men and 317 are women from Sakarya University. Scale of humour, scale of submissive behaviour and Beck scale of hopelessness have been applied to the participants. A positive meaningful relation between students’ points of humour and the points of hopelessness and a negative meaningful relation between their points of humour and the points of submissive behaviours have been found. According to students’ departments, a meaningful difference between students’ types of humour and their points of hopelessnes and submissive behaviours has been found.
