Teacher views on the behaviors of education supervisor within the investigation process

Investigation is conducted by means of examining the subject at issue, clarifying the correctness of announcements and claims of denouncers and complainants, providing all the issue related evident, appointing an expert if needed and taking the statement of the accused person. Investigation is conducted by an inquirer who is appointed by competent authorities or by the inspectors who are responsible for making inquirers according to foundation and organization legislations of corporations. The aim of this study was to put forward the behaviors of education inspectors in line with the teacher views. With this aim, the answer of the following question was tried to be found. Qualitative research method was used in this study which aimed to put forward the behaviors of education inspectors during the investigation process in line with teacher views. Study group of the study included 45 teachers whose investigations were completed by the education inspectors between the years of 2009-2011 in Giresun province. The data of the study was collected via semi-structure interview method. The most accused teachers among the teachers who evaluated the behaviors of education inspectors before the investigation, during the investigation and throughout the investigation stated that the inspectors displayed negative behavior. When the behaviors of the inspectors were evaluated within the investigation in line with the views of accused teachers, the statements of the teachers according to the frequency of negative behavior display were as follows: Inspectors did not introduce themselves before starting to the investigation. They did not explain the reason of being called to the investigation. They did not stick to the appointment that they gave for the investigation. They made prompting, suggestion, warning and reconciliation about the subject. They were busy with something else when they consulted to the knowledge of the teachersDownloads
