Comparision of traditional and computer aided teaching approaches for the preschoolers’ color concept acquisition

The aim of the study is to compare effect of education with computer and traditional education system to 3-4 years old children attending pre-school institution to have them gain basic and unbasic colors. For this aim, giving color concept with computer education and traditional education research it is investigated which method is more effective for 3-4 years old children who attend nursery school in Selçuklu.The research is planned as experimental. In this study, children are divided into two groups. Half of them are in experimental group with computer; and half of them are in control group with traditional education method. After training for a period, color evaluation scale is put into practise.
In analyzing data, independent t test is used. Significant differences are found betwen the methods. When the total point is statistically evaluated, significant diffirences are found betwen the comprehension level of the color of the two groups who got computer and traditional method of teaching to learn basic and unbasic color (p<0,05). Therefore, the group who got computer education method of teaching are found to be more successful than the group who get the traditional method of teaching in learning the color.
