Abstract

The purpose of this study; Muğla University of Physical Education and Sports School students to read about books and reading habits of determining section and researching of reading habits differences between each departments.

Research to obtain data about the reading level; developed by Gömleksiz (2004), “love to read opinions on boks” named scale is applied on 62 female to 90 male to 152 students. Evaluation of the data obtained in the program of SPSS frequencies, crosstabs, descriptive statistics, independent groups t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), differences arising from the group to find out which part of the Tukey test were applied.

Configuration study of gender and reading level, according to the results; effect (p =, 023) to (p =, 014) benefits (p =, 002) love (p =, 000) and habits (p =, 000) the significant differences in size were found ; requirements (p =, 286) is found significant differences in the size. (p <0.05)

Part of reading levels between departments according to the results are: request (p =, 000) habit (p =, 001) benefits (p =, 024) love (p =, 046) significant differences in the size was found; requirements (p =, 519) and effect (p =, 140) is found significant differences in the size (p <0.05).
